Are you living paycheck to paycheck and feeling hopeless?

These 10 couponing apps could be the next step you need to take in your finances. Click on the links to sign up with my referral codes and get extra points!

1. Your Favorite Store

Pick your favorite grocery store and download their app! This is where you will do in-store coupons.

My favorite store to coupon at would be Target! This store has numerous in-store coupons that can be paired with cash-back offers from various apps.

The only store I frequent that doesn’t have in-store coupons would be Walmart! However, this isn't a problem as I have an app to fix that problem.

2. Ibotta

This app allows you to receive the money straight into your bank account after you have accumulated $20.

These offers don’t just stick to food items either! There are numerous other options such as household items, cleaning items, and even makeup items.

Ibotta is my most used app as you can often score free items on this app. One of my favorite parts of this app is that you can buy gift cards on the app and get cash back.

Are you going to be shopping at the mall this weekend? Check the app for gift card offers before you go!

3. Coupons.com

This is an app I use for stores that don’t have in-store coupon apps such as Walmart. As I write out my grocery list for Walmart I always check this app because then I can still use the other apps on top of it.

It’s all about the legal combination strategy of these apps that makes couponing effective!

This is an app where you scan items and immediately get points! That’s right! You can earn points simply by scanning items for free.

The purchase of any of those items leaves you with even more points as well. I enjoy this app as they offer many chances to accumulate points.

You can get points simply by opening the app while you are in the store! This app pays you out in gift cards so please be aware of that!

This is an app where you get points for absolutely every receipt you submit no matter if it has a qualifying purchase. It may not be many points but it’s something.

The receipts you submit which include a qualifying purchase give you a higher point count. You can score completely free items on this app as well. It does pay you out with gift cards like Shopkick.

6. Vipon

This is an app that provides you with coupons strictly for Amazon. This app does require you to purchase each item one at a time in order to use the coupon though!

I recommend requesting the coupon and immediately purchasing it as it directs you to amazon. It makes it much simpler as you have to buy each item separately anyway!

I often find coupons on items that are already on sale on Amazon. This app will save you so much money!

This is a website that will change your life entirely. You can link the website to your bank account which allows you to receive cash back without even trying.

The other way to activate cash-back would be to add Rakuten as an extension to your web browser. This allows Rakuten to pop up before you click purchase, and it reminds you to activate it!

Rakuten has allowed me to purchase an $800 Lego set for a friend at a much much cheaper price!

8. Groupon

This is the most beginner-friendly couponing app out there. It’s where I started couponing and where I recommend everyone to start! It’s user-friendly, and the savings are incredible.

Groupon is where you go to save on life experiences and not just on items. You can save money on concerts, massages, wax services, dance lessons, etc.

This app allows you to try new things in your town without breaking the bank. I never go out without checking this app!

You never know what you could end up doing simply because you found a coupon for it. It encourages you to get out of your comfort zone.

9. Upside

This is a newer app to me since the beginning of couponing, but I’ve found it very helpful! It’s an app designed for cashback on certain gas stations and restaurants. I’ve found deals as high as thirty-five cents back a gallon!

I would highly recommend this app if you are trying to save money on every part of your budget. This app is also very user-friendly and only requires the submission of a receipt in order to get your cashback.

10. Honey

This app is very similar to Rakuten in the sense that it’s an add-on for your internet browser. Once you add it and begin shopping, the app will pop up with possible coupon codes to get you money off. It’s a very easy couponing website to add to your toolbox as you set it up and it does the work for you.

These apps will change your life especially if you are looking to eat healthier or cut out gluten or dairy. I have had to cut both of these foods out of my life and couponing is the way I afford the alternatives.

Gluten-dairy-free alternatives are incredibly expensive compared to the average American diet which makes these apps worthwhile.

Common FAQs:

  • Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy the off-brand food items? If you are looking for food alternatives or even certain brands then using a coupon is much cheaper! You can purchase brand-name foods for the same price as the off-brand food items with coupons. Coupons also allow you to try the food for a percentage off to ensure you like it before buying more.
